How to Reach Taj Mahal India

Travelling is fun, but this fun turns into pain if we don’t have proper information about the chosen destination. Taj Mahal India is a Wonder of the World which is visited by thousands of visitors every year. It is located in Agra which is one of the points of the Golden Triangle tours circuit (Delhi-Agra-Jaipur) and can be reached by airways, railways or roadways.

Air
Agra Airport (AGR) is 12.5 km away from the city. It has seasonal service and is not much popular because of the poor service. Other modes of transportation are much better. A hired cab is a better option than airway.

Train
Agra is like a junction, two main train lines, Delhi to Mumbai and Delhi to Chennai pass through it. If travelling by super fast trains like Bhopal Shatabdi and Gondwana Express it takes 2 to 3 hours of time to reach Agra from Delhi. There are around 20 trains between Delhi and Agra and around 3 to 4 between Agra and Mumbai

There are three railway stations in Agra. The main railway station is Agra Cantt (AGC).  Agra fort is the second station which is the old train station in India. Raja ki Mandi is the third station which is the smallest. Agra Tours
Palace on Wheels, the luxury train, stops in Agra on the eighth day of its expedition.

Bus
Delhi is well connected to Agra by bus. The time taken by bus is about 4 to 5 hours. Idgah and Agra Fort are the main bus stands. Idgah is the primary bus station; it is 8 km away from the Taj. Taxies and buses are available all the time and luxury AC buses can be taken from Delhi, Jaipur, Gwalior and Lucknow.

Driving
NH 2 Connects Delhi to Agra. It is a stretch of 200 km. The drive takes 4 to 5 hours. Jaipur is connected by NH 11, driving is of about 4 hours and distance is of about 255 km. The bird sanctuary town of Bharatpur comes in between the passage.

No cars are allowed to the Taj Mahal, one can hire electric autorikshaw or Tongas but the other parts of Agra can be explored by car. Hiring a taxi for the whole day would be a good option if you also want to go to Fatehpur Sikri or go around and do some shopping. Agra has many shops; Sadar Bazaar is the main spot for shopping. Agra is famous for its various stone and leather products, beware of overcharging and bargain hard. for more info Delhi Agra Tour.
